Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: Emma B Date: 18 Sep 07 - 05:15 AM Congratulations to everyone for finding alternative camping at such short notice. Thanks also for keeping us informed, the polybin has been located in the attic but a running water supply would be great! See you at the weekend! |
Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: HipflaskAndy Date: 18 Sep 07 - 05:47 AM Congrats indeed! Please could folks spread the word to as many others (as many other forums etc) as poss - that'd help combat any 'it's off' vibe that may have filtered out. I'm just about to put it on TalkAwhile, Longdogs, a myspace bulletin (which will only hit my signed up 'friends' - there are others out there with similar but diverse lists) and our own band's email list (once again - I know there are others out there with their own) - please spread the word. Thanks - Duncan |
Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: Cath Date: 18 Sep 07 - 11:02 AM We're hoping to get over for a few hours on Saturday - what's the parking situation? We don't want to spend all our time looking for parking when we could be enjoying the music? It's agse since we've been and I can't remember where we went last time. |
Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: GUEST,Snozz Date: 18 Sep 07 - 11:08 AM Parking is ok in Otley - There are 8 carparks, most of which are free. Be careful if you park on a street though - check for parking restrictions - there are usually traffic wardens in town. Use the map link from a couple of posts up to view where the car parks are. Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: jimL Date: 18 Sep 07 - 12:20 PM Latest news on campsite - water and lavatories now arranged. Snozz has created this improved map for Flash Company, for which thanks, Snozz. The previous map had developed a spurious arrow thanks to Google, which you should ignore : more haste less speed. cheers, Jim |
Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: GerryMc Date: 18 Sep 07 - 02:40 PM Beware of the AA signs though when you come into Otley as they point towards the old campsite Gerry :-) |
Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: GerryMc Date: 19 Sep 07 - 04:27 AM and some of those "P" signs are a bit cofusing on the map. The one at the bottom of Ash Grove has space for two cars and the jolly golfers might not be too keen on a load of folkies descending on their space. :-) Gerry :-) |
Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: HipflaskAndy Date: 19 Sep 07 - 06:03 AM The town is small - takes me 'bout fifteen mins to walk from one edge of fest to t'other - so once you're in the middle of it - it's just minutes in any direction to it all. I allus park in the backstreets on the outskirts - walk in. Saves trollin' about from one poss park place to the next. HFA |

Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: Soldier boy Date: 20 Sep 07 - 06:20 PM Well done to those who have sorted out an alternative campsite on the west side of town and running water etc. Stalwarts one and all! The festival Office told me that this campsite is roughly the same distance from town as the one previously used on the east side of town and of course regular shuttle mini-buses will run between the campsite and the festival office. Good stuff. Well done folks! |
Subject: RE: Otley Folk Festival (UK)... 2007 From: Flatpick Date: 20 Sep 07 - 08:38 PM Mrs. Duck, Gonna bring your autoharp in the soft case? I'm bringing my Keith Young autoharp and you may like to take a look at it, and a play on it of course. Best Regards, Roger Knowles |
