Subject: RE: Rachel Unthank at The Spitz 21 Sept 2007 From: Giant Folk Eyeball (inactive) Date: 01 Sep 07 - 04:12 AM Looking forward to seeing her if she plays Manchester. The new abum is a good'un, with a surprisingly effective take on Robert Wyatt's sublime 'Sea Song' in amongst the folk. There again I'm a sucker for women's singing voices with a north-eastern English accent... Cheers Nigel |

Subject: RE: Rachel Unthank at The Spitz 21 Sept 2007 From: the button Date: 01 Sep 07 - 08:47 AM Yeah, cheers, I'm looking forward to it a lot. I'll wait 'til then to buy the new CD (assuming they'll have them on sale) so that the artist gets most of the money, rather than Amazon. |
Subject: RE: Rachel Unthank at The Spitz 21 Sept 2007 From: the button Date: 01 Sep 07 - 08:58 AM Nigel -- she's playing Manchester on 29 Sept., at the Royal Northern College of Music. More details on her myspace page (these young people.... ;-) ) http://www.myspace.com/rachelunthank |
Subject: RE: Rachel Unthank at The Spitz 21 Sept 2007 From: the button Date: 22 Sep 07 - 04:11 AM Went to this last night, & they were great. It's a shame the venue was so f-ing hot though. Me & other ½ left after about an hour because the heat was unbearable. I've noticed since the smoking ban that pubs & venues are a lot hotter. I reckon they're not bothering with the aircon nowadays. |
