Hi, y'all,

I've posted a few videos from this fine, fine festival:

Mike & Ali Vass part 1
Mike & Ali Vass part 2
Parallelogram
Demon Barber Roadshow
David Holt - Shady Grove
David Holt - Tom Dooley
Last Orders and kids in the sunshine
Wynndebagge

...enjoy!

And, yes, I do have the artists' permissions (except Last Orders and Demon Barbers - still pending)

Thanks Hamish, I enjoyed all the clips, though think (on the basis of that particular clip) that Parallelogram are more jazz than folk - what with not getting back from Whitby till the Saturday I didn't get to Towersey until Sunday, and then only to the Three Horseshoes barn. So I missed the acts in the arena, but did get to the singing.

Richard - you're not being quite fair, because David Holt was singing folk songs, albeit from the other side of the Atlantic. In the Village Hall, by the look of it.

I think I'm getting too old to want to pay large sums of money to sit in concerts on folding chairs, though. A far cry from the days when we determinedly struggled to find a space on the floor.....

Kitty

David Holt also played the main stage, and was wonderful. He was entertaining and educational, but not remotely patronising. The audience was spellbound.

Richard, those are a few clips out of dozens of concerts and events. There was plenty of folk song at the festival.

Yes, Ruth - the clips I posted are not meant to be representative. It's just what I chose on a whim to record., proximity to the stage being a key factor. It's only a "stills" camera, I wasn't really planning on taking any videos at all, so I didn't have any plan of approach, and I certainly didn't have any strategy to make it comprehensive.

The Parallelogram gig wasn't anywhere near as jazzy as the clip makes out - that was probably the most extremely jazzy passage in the whole set. It was completely random that I chose those two minutes. I wished I'd kept it running at the end: as you can get a hint, Martin Green was about to head off into a quite folksie and lyrical passage.

And I wish I hadn't left the camera in the car for the Van Eyken gig, which was awesome: probably my personal highlight of the weekend.

Incredibly, before I'd posted this trailer, and in under 24 hours, one of the Mike & Ali clips had notched up 279 views!!

Anyway, thank you all for your kind comments.
