I posted this song some time ago in one of the China Sea party threads but there were a few errors in the chords which I realized when I finally got around to recording it. It was originally composed by an ex-Coastguardman named Jim McGrath, inspired by his work when he was based in Seabrook, New Hampshire; I'm not sure what's become of McGrath since he left Maine around 1990. I changed the tune and tweaked some of his words (copy and paste into WORD/TIMES/12 to line up chords):

It's ironic that the "wreckers" here call themselves "salvage men" while the "salvage men" in a traditional Florida ballad call themselves "wreckers."

I've really lost track of Joe McGrath, the composer of this song. He lived in the Portland area in the 1980's, was a pilot for Texas Air. He was an active member of the Portland Folk Club for about 10 years. He also used to hang out at the old Club 47 in the Boston area, way back in the 1960's. The Goggle searches I have done turn up some singers but not any likely ones. As mentioned above he also is an ex-Coastguardman.

I'd like to get a release from Joe before recording this song.
