The Kings Arms Upper Upnor, nr Rochester Kent has a beer festival on the 28/29/30th of September and will be welcoming folkies why want a good singaround, food will be provided as well as them having 15 real ales and several ciders all welcome xx

Hey sapper, if you remember The Kings Arms do you also recall the hosts, Peter and Kitty?
I was in 4troop (RCT) 12 RSME, and was often in the Top House.
So much so, in fact, that I ended up marrying their daughter !!!

Times Fridays from 7ish then on Saturday Skinner Rats are playing from 2/5pm then its a free for all saturday night and the same all day Sunday

Thanks Don, I thought I was going to miss this, as in a weak moment, I had promised to take the aged outlaws to Dorset. However, due to a happy clappy Christian festival in Christcurch on Sunday, we were unable to get a B+B on Saturday night

Hey Hoffmeister, we do a pretty good version of Byker Hill!!

Just got home from Upnor, after a truly remarkable evening.

Music and beer in the garden round a central campfire.

Top notch beer supplied in copious quantities by the friendly and welcoming staff.

Music in equally copious quantity, if not quality, by ME. JUST ME!

Close on 3 hours of performing to one of the most appreciative audiences I have yet seen. They were wonderful, and I haven't enjoyed myself so much for ages.

My heartfelt thanks to all involved.

I will be back on Sunday with Norman, and maybe (not sure yet) for part of Saturday.

Sat was nice while the rain stayed away.

Best beer IMHO the Otter. Again not all that many performers.

Paul Carr was there when we got there at about 1.15, as was Don.

"we" comprised me and Rachel and Sam (drummer).

Skinny Rats were technically excellent from about 2 to about 5.

Towards the end of that Paul went and George and Fisheye arrived.

So that left 6 performers.

Then Kev the Clogs arrived and that made 7 - and Don left so that made 6.

By about 9 or so Rachel had run out of songs and I had run out of voice. I had also tried the requisite 12 different brews to collect my free souvenir pint glass.

Nice fire, nice natural amphitheatre garden, many of the brews pretty good. Pub keen to do it again. Where woz yer?

Sunday was myself and Norman Brooks, from 3pm till 10.30pm, with a young chap called Andy who turned out to be a more than competent performer of contemporary music.

We had a great time with a gradually dwindling but appreciative audience.

Rob wants to do more of these, perhaps four a year, and he is also keen to have a weekly Sunday folk club in the back room.

I'll be discussing with him in a few weeks after his holiday.

A big thank you to one and all who turned up Rob thought you was all great I will be showing him how to get his cookie and communicate with you in person. Rob is keen to do this again and would love to have sing arounds in the pub would you prefer a wednesday or a sunday.The festival was a great success and lots of beer was consumed and Yes Richard Rachel impressed one and all,Lots of love and big hugs
