Subject: Electric Proms 2007 - Lal Waterson From: KeithofChester Date: 12 Sep 07 - 03:38 AM Here are more details of the BBC's Electric Proms Lal Waterson tribute that Diane mentioned on the EFDSS folk free zone thread. Tribute to Lal Waterson The late Lal Waterson was one of Britain's most revered folk singers. For the BBC Electric Proms the whole Waterson family (including Norma Waterson, Mike Waterson, Eliza Carthy, Martin Carthy, Marry Gilhooley and Oliver Knight) will gather to celebrate the songs of Lal. They will be joined by some very special guests including James Yorkston, Alasdair Roberts, Lisa Knapp, Tim Van Eyken and Kathryn Williams. Electric Proms Tickets go on sale today, but obviously given the series sponor much of it should also be going out on BBC Radio and TV. I'm highly curious to hear what David Arnold is going to do with the Kaiser Chiefs. After what I heard him do with Russell Brand on When I'm 64 for the recent BBC Sergeant Pepper re-recording, anything is possible! |
