Subject: Mein Glueck ist am Huetterl - yodeling song
From: Ferrara

For me, one of my favorite examples of yodeling was done by two hefty gray-haired women in dirndls, I think in Interlachen in 1968, on a song called (forgive the spelling) "Mein Glueck ist am Huetterl." I've looked for that song ever since. Can't remember the tune, only how thrilled I was at the fine yodeling. Would like to have the lyrics, tune, a recorded source, ideas where I might find it in print, or any other info about it. Most of all, I'd like to be able to hear it again, with the alpine yodeling. - Rita F

Hi Rita!

I believe the full title of the song is "Mei Glück is a Hütterl im schönen Tirol". I haven't been able to find the lyrics. But there is a recording available by Erwin Trojan and Willibald Tatzer. Try e-mailing MVT@netway.at

You have to insert special HTML commands for it:
ä gives ä
(means a umlaut) similarly for u and o,
(ü ö)
ß gives ß

I just copy the "Umlaute" from the Character Map in the Windows Accessories Menu. I'll have to try this HTML thing for a change.
