Subject: Review: Tisbury Folk Festival From: Two of a Hind Date: 17 Sep 07 - 08:54 AM Full marks for the team that put this together at short notice. 4 of us went fron Newport Folk Club and had a great time, just our sort of Festival, pleanty of singarounds and some excellent performers. The village is as middle England as they come with very warm welcome from the residence with a special mention to the landlord of the Bennet who launched into the spirit of the occassion with my old man said follow the van and a few other well known songs and on his seventieth birthday. The whole event was great, are we going next year, if their willing to sell us tickets we'll be there. I suggest you get there before the middle bar singers and the shellbacks find it. |

Subject: RE: Review: Tisbury Folk Festival From: Herga Kitty Date: 17 Sep 07 - 02:13 PM I'm glad to hear Tisbury was a success - I was just too folked out after 7 consecutive weekends singing to make it. But that last comment was pretty mean, and a nasty aspersion on unaccompanied singers. Middle Bar Singers are individuals and include some very fine singers - they don't perform as a group, and Shellbacks generally perform as a group where they are booked. Kitty |
