"Half of them are my cousins......" Jings, I thought they all were.
Now I think when a Lurker has something to say, we should take the time to involve them.
Guest Lurker: Do you have somewhere specific in mind?

It IS a long way north (on a clear day, you can see Orkney), but the scenery is gorgeous, the food is good, the barstaff are friendly, and I quite like the locals.....

How about trying the Craggan at Melness next time? It's not near the train, but the PostBus from Lairg still stops there.....(ulterior motive - my house is walking distance from the Craggan!)

At this time of year, there are loads of self-catering places available, as well as BnBs.

Well it will still happen, just possibly not there. We have run a musical weekend at the Royal Hotel in Cromarty before, it's just not so good for transport links.
They have a big function room, and 150 different malt whiskies available at the bar. They also did us a lovely sit down dinner on the Saturday evening.
Giok

Well I just got some bad news folks, Graham has put the hotel on the market, so I have no idea now what will happen in the future.
I am totally pissed off about this, and only found out about 5 minutes ago. I will keep those who are interested, posted on happenings.
I will look for an alternative venue though.

If there is any way I can get there, I will. Can I bring a Bodhran? I promise I won't play unless I am asked. Really. I mean it. I won't. Well, maybe outside in the yard. As long as it doesn't bother anyone. Pets don't count.

Yes to everything else!

And the Brennivin is still virgin and unopened. But I did manage to get 6lbs of sloes yesterday so there may be some bottle opening tomorrow.
