I never heard who supplied the song. I was told it came from a song workshop. I think someone said it was in PEI. From around 15 or 20 years ago.

Subject: Lyr Add: AM FALBH THU LEAM A RÌBHINN ÒG
From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca

Am Falbh Thu Leam a Rìbhinn Òg
Fonn: Tiree Wedding Song

Séist
Am falbh thu leam a rìbhinn òg
No'n téid thu leam thar saile
Gum faic thu ann gach nì gu d' mhiann
'S an eilean shiar a dh'fhàg mi.

1
Ged nach faic thu coill' no fiadh
Tha gèadh is eala bhàn ann
Cait' bheil sealladh a chuain shiar
Nuair bhios na liadhan traighte.

2
Chì thu uiseag agus smeòrach
Lon dubh agus luachran
Seillean ruadh le mhil 's a ghàradh
'S blàrag air gach buallan.

3
Chì thu sgairbh 'tigh'nn ort o'n chuan;
Tha lachaidh ruadh a' snamh ann;
Muran gorm a' fàs m' a bhruaich
Gach ceum mu 'n cuairt d' a' thraighean

4
Cha 'n fhaic thu nathair ann air grunnd
Ach luibhean 's cùbhraidh faileadh
A' cinntinn ann bho linn gu linn
'S an tìr 's an d'fhuair mi m' àrach

Subject: Lyr Add: HO-REE, HO-RO, MY LITTLE WEE GIRL
From: Malcolm Douglas
Date: 30 Oct 02 - 09:36 PM

Perhaps I should just give Roberton's text; the DT entry is uncredited and innaccurate.

HO-REE, HO-RO, MY LITTLE WEE GIRL (A Tiree Love Song)

(Set to English words by Hugh S. Roberton: Tune by Andrew Sinclair.)

Ho-ree, ho-ro, my little wee girl!
Ho-ree, ho- ro, my fair one!
And will you go with me, my Love,
To be my own, my rare one?

Smiling the land! Smiling the sea!
Sweet is the scent of the heather.
Would we were yonder, just you and me,
The two of us together!

All the day long, out at the peat,
Then, by the shore in the gloaming,
Stepping it lightly with dancing feet,
And we together homing.

Laughter o' love! Singing galore!
Tripping it lightsome and airy:
Could we be asking of life for more,
My own, my darling Mary?

Songs of the Isles, Hugh S. Roberton, 1950. The tune was reproduced "by permission".

Again like Mairi's Wedding, this is a completely different song. There is a song, which is sung to that tune.

Can't find it right now. Will post it some day.

Oh, yes; it's rare one. Not fair.

It isn't traditional. The tune was made by Andrew Sinclair, and the English lyric is by Hugh Roberton (copyright 1947), who was also responsible for a number of other "traditional" pieces such as The Mingulay Boat Song, Westering Home and so on.

Roberton gave the "vocables" as Ho ree, ho ro. Perhaps we should take his word for it until we have the Gaelic lyric, if there is one.

Jim, you have the right pronounciation but wrong spelling. I found lyrics at
http://home.swipnet.se/lato/ballads/tireelov.html
I was a bit surprisd because I already knew the song, but didn't know its title or that it was connected with the isle of Tiriodh / Tiree.

Tiree Love Song(Trad)

Hi- ree hi-ro my bonnie wee girl
Hi- ree Hi- ro my fair one*
Will you come away my love
To be my own my fair* one

Smiling the land, shining the sea
Sweet is the smell o' the heather
Would we were yonder you and me
The two of us together

[chorus]
Heree horo my bonnie wee girl
Heree horo my fair one
Will you come away my love
To be my own, my fair one

All day long out at the peat
Then on the shore in the gloaming
Stepping it lightly with dancing feet
And then together homing

Laughter above, singing below
Tripping it lithesome and airy
Could we be asking of life for more
My own my darling Mary

And it is also at Mudcat, DT database; maybe you tried to find the song but didn't know the spelling. Both DT and Swipenet have 'rare one' but I learned 'fair one' I also changed the vocables in the first vers to the way I learned them. I don't know which is correct. Although they're untranslatable, Scots are particular about not changing the sounds of vocables. Rankin Family page
also recorded by the Corries, Irish Ramblers, Denis Ryan, Kenneth McDonald, the McCalmans, Arrandale,Cantamus
