Is anybody out there interested in helping start or participating in a regular english/welsh or whatever ' all welcome' type of musicians session in Anglesey, possibly Menai Bridge. If so contact me georgegarside@talktalk.net.

thanks for the thought Lin! What I have in mind is nothing fancy, a nice relaxed session with something for everybody and all welcome irrespective of instrument or ability - so come ye who are hiding in the woodwork!

Is the Nelson session in Bangor still going? That would be a good place to canvass for a few victims.

George, could you please post details here if you are able to set something up? I have a cousin in Menai Bridge who I visit occasionally - but would you welcome a singer to your session?

pmb - not sure, last time I looked in on it it was predominetly Irish music which is fine for those of us who can play it - I had in mind something on the slightly more 'gentle' side as far as pace so as to encourage those who have so far not ventured out to sessions.

As far as singers go I can't think of any valid reason why they wouldn't be most welcome! but first we have to have a few musicians otherwise it would be me and an occsional singer!

I think the Nelson has a Welsh session once a month, which has only recently returned there having spent some time 'overseas' at the Anglesey Arms, Menai Bridge. There's also some activity in and around Caernarfon so it would be good if a new session tried to mesh in with the established dates.

As m.g.a.s. says, please post the details when you have something up and running.

sian

in order for 'the details' to be published it needs me and one or two others!    What we need are a few intrepid musicians who are prepared to meet up , preferably somewhere with decent real ale, to look at the possibilities of a regular session and maybe even play a tune or two together. You don't have to be a virtuoso and anything from a mouthorgan upwards will be just fine. email me georgegarside@talktalk.net   if interested and pass this on to anybody else you think might be.
