After a long summer holiday caused by a change of Landlord the Packhorse will hopefully be up and running for the last Friday of October Thats the 26th.
The old Landlord has been great and the lockins are almost ledgendary Whoops! Sorry! didnt say that.
Frank has a good guest list lined up and he like so many organisers does a great job keeping the club and the music going
The first guests of the new season are
Young No More the local acappella group who are Vic Simpson(Cuba was written for Vic by Ken Cockerill) Jacky Lockley and Nic Burdett.
Our group name was created in the Packhorse when Rob Young emigrated to Co Durham and we were trying to think of a new name for our group
Pete Burnham wag that he is suggested no longer young and that soon became "Young No More"
See you there.

Sound like a good night to me.

It's a brilliant singing room. The acoustics are excellent .... and the beers good too.

Best of luck to the new landlord.

Great news about Jack, We shall be there, we would not miss it for the world. Please do not tell anyone else about how good Jack is, let's keep him for ourselves. We would not want "others" finding out about him and making him the star he should be.
As an American radio dj said to us "how this guy is not as big as Johnny Cash is a crime you Brits should answer for in the great court of music crimes"

So is life

Una and Tony

Silly old chuffer I forgot to put Herga Kitty's name on that last message.

That'll teach me to proof read the posting.

I was wondering the same - I was so sorry to be unable to make it down for the opening night (totally unavoidable longstanding prior commitment)....
Hope it went well, Old Nic my good friend - I'll be phoning you one day soon, m' duck (can't PM you as a Guest).

We had a pretty good night thank you.
The new landlord seems very affable. The room was warm and clean, but they had taken down the Christmas decorations that had been there since time immoral....woe, woe, thrice woe. It can't be a folk club without vintage trimmings, can it?
Good singing, good company, good beer. What more would you want.
Good wishes to you m'duck.

Maybe the landlord is intending to put up some new trimmings. Won't be as good as the old ones though!
