I read this article last week: Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah may not have reached its heights without Australia

I'm listening now to his Grace album. It was always so hauntingly beautiful but even more so now that Jeff Buckley passed away so tragically by drowning in 1997. Listening to Last Goodbye just makes me cry because of his death.

I bought the CD when it was first released in Australia and loved it, although a couple of the songs had to infiltrate my soul a bit slower than the others.

A bit of history: When I was in a shared student house back in the early '70's I first heard a Tim Buckley record (yes, vinyl record - I'm that old!) and I thought he was excruciatingly painful, but then the more I listened to it the more I liked it. My favourite song of his is Song to the Siren.

Jeff Buckley was born in California's Orange County in 1966 and died in a tragic drowning accident in Memphis on May 29, 1997.

I first heard of him on a mudcat thread where it was mentioned that he
had sung a great version of Leonard Cohen's hallelujah.

Another mudcat Thread said his father was the (late) Tim Buckley.

Apparently there is a documentary about him called Amazing Grace.

Does anyone else have any Jeff Buckley information, stories, songs, etc?
