One more thing:

He looks to me to be wearing a hair piece--the little patch in the front looks suspiciously like a divit.

Moreover, he has aged far more than he looks because they are using makeup to hide his wrinkles but, at certain angles, it can't be hidden. He has aged badly. One can see the wrinkles and the radically receding hairline.

Then there are all the stories about him constantly blowing up at White House staff for no real reason. Something displeases him and he goes off, intimidating the staff. I believe it because of the way the staff figuratively drew straws to see who would go to Bush's ranch and give him the bad news about New Orleans and even the newspapers spoke about how Bush kills the messenger when he has to cut a binge--er, sorry--a vacation short.

He's losing it in about every way a human being can lose it. Just desserts.

Here's Bush openly drinking. A man who admits to having been an alcoholic and who admits to never having sought any professional help:

I suppose this is just clever editing to make him look drunk (note: slowing down the clip--the usual charge of those who say he isn't really drunk--doesn't make you look drunk unless you already are):

This is a typical drunken idiot:

You'd think he could just say the administration should have moved faster after Katrina.

Well, it's not a job that most people would want to have, is it? I wonder who's pulling the strings too, but I doubt we'll ever hear much about that.

Same thing that seems to have happened to more than a few Presidents. Makes me wonder who's pulling the strings.

Definitely. One wonders what happened to him between 10 years ago and now.

The impression I was left with was he was going to give the answer he wanted even if it was obvious to anyone paying attention that it was to some other question. He reacted badly to any attempt on the interviewer's part to steer him back on topic. It looked like he was afraid if he got interrupted, he'd forget where he was in the rehearsed 'answer'.

That whole pat-on-the-head thing doesn't work when the people you're patronizing are dumber than you.

(Gotta remember 'My job is to do my job' though.)

Also with the Irish interview, he seems fairly lucid but he's talking shit. "Saddam refused to disarm..." and she says, "But there were no weapons found..." and he doesn't address that but instead it's, "Will you let me finish a sentence??"

At one point towards the end, she tries to interject and the look of "Shut the fuck up, bitch!" flashes across his face. The way he shuts his eyes and makes a line with his mouth--it's brief but it's also unmistakable. He wanted her to be a yes-woman and would not let her interject despite the fact that she had legitimate objections to what he was saying.

And I agree that he certainly seems to give male interviewers more leeway. I mean, he was downright rude to her. Strictly an asshole.

I was struck when I saw these clips by something one of his staffers said after quitting. I'm paraphrasing but it was something like, "I met George Bush when he was governor of Texas and he was engaging, articulate, lucid and he could work with democrats as easily as republicans in the Texas House and both seemed to respect him and like him. I thought he would make a great president. But after he took the White House, he went into isolation and never spoke to Congress unless he wanted something. He just cut himself off from everyone and only took the advice of his closest staffers."

I have two clips also of him giving press conferences where he talks very slow and slurs his words. He appeared to be either drunk or having one of these mini strokes someone talked about. The third clip is bogus but all the stammering is from the same speech: "I...uh...er...ah...ah...ah...I...uh...I don't know...I don't...uh..u-u-u-u-u-u-hhh..." Compare that to when he was governor and I have to agree that something is not right with him.

There's a lot of commentary going on about those two clips right now. Here is one- it's interesting reading.

What blows me away is that I'm sitting here seriously considering whether we in this country are as far down the path as it truly seems.

"What's hard is to get them to say them clearly, honestly, accurately...when they either don't believe them, or don't understand them...or are under so much pressure that they can scarcely function.

"Lil' Twig is all of those things. He is a mouthpiece and a tool if ever I saw one: set up, handled, polished, directed, guided, shaped, blow-dried, spun-dry, and ultra spun. He is a puppet, and he was given the job by his corporate masters because they saw that Americans would buy an actor playing the president, with Dutch, in 1980.

"So why not have a puppet playing the president in 2000?"

There seems to be a 'game' of cleverly editing Bush speechs to sound totally stupid.....coals to Newcastle.

Susan, 282RA posted three video clips. The first one shows a vigorous 'young' Bush making a speech as Governor of Texas. The second one is of him being interviewed by a young British journalist. Female, which imo accounts for his rudeness in repeatedly exhorting her to let him finish- in my opinion he would never have been so direct if he were being interviewed by someone he considered his equal.)

The third one, as Amos said, is in all likelihood made up of a montage of his many stammerings while speaking; it purportedly shows him making a speech where he never gets out more than three intelligible words.

At the start of Reagan's second term I said on TV that it is apparent that he (Reagan) is suffering from some kind of organic brain disease.

I was not invited back on the Matt Rinaldo show again.

Does anyone remember Reagan saying...(paraphrased)"If I start to feel like I'm getting senile, I'll tell you."?

I posted at great length about one year ago regarding the reports of George W's many strokes that were deemed mini strokes.

Starting with the pretzel incident and culminating with a seizure in the presence of white house staffers and Karl Rove, the strokes are considered to be benign yet the cumulative effect of eschemic mini strokes can indeed mimic dementia.

The cartoon I did of Cheney's heart condition and Bush's *(which are common among certain people who have abused alcohol*) is loaded with facts to support the premise of a real a present health crisis at the highest levels of goverment.

These strokes can be managed with medication. HBO Sopranos fans will remember the uncle who suffered from these same kind of mini strokes and the effect they can have on behavior.

"What he does not address is the place where the cartoons, slogans and mottoes end and reality starts."

It's more than probable he doesn't have the answer to that, Amos.

He was surprisingly nimble in the interview with that bright colleen.

And his fluidity in the "ten years ago" clip in the Governor race of Texas was remarkable. It is hard to believe he was ever that competent and well-briefed; because in all the time I have paid any attention to him, he has never been that able to assemble a factual, meaningful statement.

The third clip is bogus.

But even at his best in the Irish interview he was nimble while being persistently shallow and dealing in specious slogans, a sort of motto-motivated mentality. And he never answered the question of why he started the war in Iraq in the first place.

What he does not address is the place where the cartoons, slogans and mottoes end and reality starts.
