On another thread, the collection 'Seven Kentucky Mountain Songs' by JJ Niles came up. I was intrigued, and borrowed the book from the library. The song I liked best in it was 'Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies,' which he collected in 1912 from some little girls. There is already a MIDI in the DT, but I like this one better.

I have asked Joe to post the MIDI I made of that song, and I hope it will appear here soon.

Perhaps Karen will sing it at the end of her music course.

Here it is. I have to say I can't figure out how this tune fits the words, beyond the first line. Are the lyrics any different, Leeneia?
