If you're still online, Kat--

We've had some chat about my own medical stuff/rehab..... now, listen up. Do NOT get confused even for a minute that you're "back to how it was." You do not need to give in (now or ever) to any temptation to even start to feel that, much less believe it. Because the truth is, you can simply give thanks for the healing pouring through you in your stronger state-of-being as your powerful and reliable heart organizes all of this relaxed healing time.

So cross arms and hug that heart, lady.

~Susan

I'm here, Sins! Thanks for asking. Still a little shaky but cannot stand to stay in that bed one more day. So...I am up, at least. I had Morgan over last night for about 40 minutes. It was so good to get and give a hug. He was a gem, but it was still tiring. We'll try for a bit of time, today, too. I cannot believe how much of a difference there was in just a couple or three weeks. He will be 4 on the 14th and is learning by leaps and bounds.

Last night he showed how long his arms are by reaching up to the bookshelf and getting a book down where previously it'd been too high. THEN, he brought it over, opened it to a page, started "reading" it to me, while tracking the text with his finger. I exclaimed over it all, then he gave me a quick smile and said, "See?! I told you I learned to write!" He actually did pretty well from inferences from the pictures. Then he got another book, leafed through the pages and kept saying, "This one has too much peoples'" When I asked him more, I figured out he meant there was too much text (i.e. big peoples' writing) on each page. At one point he said, "Mama, this book is all peoples'! There's no pictures. That's just weird!"

Stupid Nanawrimo keeps sticking its head up. I didn't think I'd be up for t, but the darn thing keeps composing in my head. I haven't even got last year's novel to the agent, yet!

Phew....that's the most I've been able to type in ages. Guess I'd better stop for awhile.

Thanks, again, to ALL of you. What a great bunch of friends!

Hey, kat, I've been away and am so glad to come back to hear this progress report. Great news. Heal swiftly and completely. And remember, when you're feeling like your not making gains in strength as quickly as you'd like, think about how you felt a week ago. Then you'll know you're progressing.

Love to you ~
KT

Ooh Kat, I just saw this! Well, you know what to do...allow six months for the nasty pneumonia to really and truely get out of your system, soak up the Mudcat vibes (you've earned 'em), and enjoy the benefits of my gen-u-ine purebred Midwestern $#@!-reduction candle series, the first of which will be fired up when I get home form work.

YIKES! I just said (in my 9:18 post) that you can "rid it in one big gulp". That's terrible. I meant to say "read it in one big gulp". Forgive me please!

[Mind you, if you gulped it, you would be rid of it...oh, never mind. You know my intentions.]

Kat, thank you for being you. You're a wonderful creature.

Like Frogprince (a few posts above), I know Kat most deeply through her book "WindWords of Wyoming". I read it when it first came out, and like to take it with me on trips - such as my last trip to England. It's just the most beatiful book, written in such a way that you can rid it in one big gulp or in smaller little chunks.

Anyone here who hasn't "experienced" Kat's book - please CLICK HERE RIGHT NOW.

Love ya Kat!!! You're simply beautiful!

Hi Kat, We had Petrina & John round for a meal last evening so I updated them on your situation. P was quite concerned, as she had pneumonia herself when she was in dock for a hip replacement. She was pleased to hear that you are making good progress and sends her love. I will continue to pass on bulletins.
Happy to say that P is looking great and appears to be the right side of her scare, she spent the evening plotting the revolution with Sheila, whilst John and I dealt with the serious stuff (like Jazz, the Rugby World Cup, all the important things!)

Susan... Like the sound of aquajogging! Jogging without the sweat, lovely thought!

All good wishes to you, Kat. Here's a joke to help you through, or send you back, depending on reaction.

Someone goes into a public library, walks up to the front desk, and say's "I'll have a burger, fries, and a coke." The librarian say's "but this is a public library." The would be diner say's "Oh, sorry, how stupid of me... (now whispering) I'll have a burger, fries, and a coke."

I am very pleased that our Kat didn't tie her recovery to that upstart bunch of yahoo's on the wrong side of the Rockies. What gall, to think they could stand in the van with my beloved Red Sox. Brash, that lot!!!!

......I should have took that damn bet and made That friggin Lonesome EJ wear a dress with the Red Sox logo emblazoned on it. Could have got myself some decent bourbon too. Shit.

Get well, Kat. I am concerned that Morgan is dancing around trying to play all those instruments with no decent guidance. Next thing you know, he'll be buskin' on corners, hangin' with inappropriate people, and callin' himself a musician.

Love,

Mick

One more before I go to bed and this is esp. to Art, because it was HIS voice I heard in my head. I was nothing but negative, couldn't eat, sleep, relax, walk, stop coughing etc., etc. I had Art's Cowboy Barbara Allen going through my head when she says, "Yes, I'm sick, I'm very sick, I never shall get better. Young William died for me, today, I'm going to die for him tomorrow." Well, that's the way I felt, BUT I knew I had to turn it around, so finally I HEARD Art singing in my head, "Yes, I'm well, I'm very well, I know that I'm much better. Roger's taken good care of me, I'll care for him tomorrow!"

G'night all. Poor Rockies.
