Subject: Folk Clubs, Croydon UK From: Simon G Date: 05 Nov 07 - 07:00 AM I want to recommend some clubs to someone new to the folk world who lives a couple of miles south of Croydon, UK. A welcoming club to folk beginners would be best, ideally with a wide range of music sung, probably singaround style. Any ideas welcome. |

Subject: RE: Folk Clubs, Croydon UK From: Sarah the flute Date: 05 Nov 07 - 07:37 AM Well for starters there is Croydon Folk Club on a Monday at John Ruskin House. The Flying Chaucers are doing a session with friends in The Two Brewers Pub in Croydon on 13th November For Irish sessions there is the Blythe Tavern in Catford on Thursday Nights and the wonderful Kilkenny Tavern in Wimbledon on Tuesdays. Cheers Sarah |

(www.croydonfolksongclub.org.uk/) There is also a session at The Wo Brewers on the 2nd Tuesday of the Month. It is also worth trying the Bluegrass Plus Club, every 2nd Friday in the month (more details at www.bluegrass-plusclub.co.uk) Best wishes, Peter |
