Best route, or alternate forms of transportation? Easiest way is to rent a car at the airport...it's a pretty easy drive from there. If anyone is coming FROM that area, or getting in about the same time, it could be even easier.

Does anyone know the best way to get from the Baltimore airport to the camp? I'm trying to force my schedule into order so I can make it for the entire thing, but I'm not sure how to work out the transportation.

The service around here is excellent, mint or no mint.

Speaking of which, how's the room service?!

I ain't got no feathers.

Well, if ol' Amos and Hugh (The Banjoest) can bamBOOZle the fuzz at Balboa Park, I'd say the Methodists should be a piece o' cake. ;D

Bobert...re: alkihoool...the Methodist camp will not like us if they see any evidence of it. We have managed 2 years there now, and they seem to have not found reason to DISlike us. We need to keep it that way.

(The Getaway has functioned like this for most of 40 years...Camp "Tumbleweed", for all its chilly nights and strangeness was the ONLY place we ever went where a Bluesman could be openly...ummm..

so, a word to the wise & clever should do it.

But, what the hay, they 'sposed to be heated but from what I understand the womenz is gonna get things so stoked up durin' the day that the camp will stay 'round 80 degrees all night...

Ahhhhh, I'm gonna get there by lunch Sunday... I gotta a gig Saturday so that's the earlist I can get there... Is the lunch gonna be okay 'er is it gonna be the Tumbleweed menu??? Awww, jus funnin'...

(No, I'm not...)

Hey, what's this here about alkeeee-hooollll??? They gonna give us breath-lizers and make us walk straight lines??? They gonna go thru our suitcases looking fir flasks, 'er what... I was tolt that as long as we was kinda cool and weren't falling down drunk and throwin' empty beer cans out the cabin windows that all would be okay??? That still (pun not inteneded) the case??? Hey, I'm a bluesman, gol danged it!!!

Nevermind...

Hurrah! It will be grand to meet you at last, Dani -- and to see you again, Janie, and meet your sister.

A general question, because I've forgotten since last year: Is this the thread where we are meant to post requests for help with such things such as the loan of a sleeping bag, rides from and to bus stations or airports and the like, or will/should another thread be started for that purpose?

(I know it's early days; just wondering.)

Thanks,
Claire

I'm bringing my sleeping bag just in case my check didn't clear.

I can always sleep in the van!

I'm still looking for a rider or two from Maine or New Hampshire (PM me if interested). I head down early on Friday but plan to stop in at NYC (Monday) and Gloucester (Tuesday sea music swap) on the way back for more singing.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

Looks like I'm gonna make it, as well as sister Annie.    Will have to leave on Sunday for the first time, and won't be there until late Friday. But finally decided that exhausted by fun and fellowship trumps exhausted by angst.

My perennial thanks to the cadre of FSGW people who make this restorative weekend possible for the rest of us.

There's no space for an Ian and Sylvia/Gordon Lightfoot Workshop in the schedule.

However if anyone would like to get a side jam going on Friday night or anytime, just put the arm on us at the Getaway or PM me here, and I'm sure we can get it together to reprise some of their great songs.

It's little known, but...

Originally in the early days they were called Parrot-Troopers and carried birds on their shoulders when they jumped. This experement only lasted a brief time, as the birds either abandoned the jumpers in mid-flight or else held on for dear life so hard that they had to be surgically removed after the jump, leaving stains on the uniforms and sizeable scars underneath. Also, when captured, the stool-parrots would blab anything they knew for tha price of a cracker or sexual companionship.

They changed over to carrier pigeons within the month and changed the spelling and the rest is Historectomy (History once-removed)....

Three of a kind usually beats a para-anything but a good pair of certain things still beat all!.....
