Shona Kipling & Damien O'Kane will be appearing at the Music Institute Club in Guildford. They have been together as a duo for three and a half years - Shona is currently a student on the Folk and Traditional Music degree course at Newcastle University and Damien was one of its first graduates in 2005.

Shona, from Co. Durham, began playing accordion aged 11 and soon began winning competitions, becoming UK champion twice and playing in three All-Ireland finals.

Damien, from Co. Derry, plays tenor banjo and guitar and is a fine
singer. He grew up steeped in the Irish tradition and has also played
in three All-Ireland finals. He is also a member of Crosscurrent, has
performed with Bellowhead, Uiscedwr and Rachel Unthank and
works with Kathryn Tickell as Associate Director of 'Folkestra'.

Music starts promptly at 8pm, and the evening finishes at 10.30 pm.
