Subject: Modify an existing link on Mudcat From: quantock Date: 14 Nov 07 - 09:42 PM Years ago, I added a link on Mudcat to Gebhard Woods Dulcimer Festival (http://www.gwdf.org). The link still appears to be there if I search for it, but I cannot see it if I look under Festivals and Venues. There are also a couple of details I need to change. Is the only way to do this to delete the old one completely and submit a new one, or is there a way to edit the existing one? |
Subject: RE: Modify an existing link on Mudcat From: katlaughing Date: 14 Nov 07 - 10:40 PM For some reason it was filed under "Miscellaneous" > "Traditional Music Festivals" on the Links page. As to editing, Joe Offer may know what can be done. You could either send him a Personal Message or see if he comes in here, which he probably will do. Nice to see you back here. All the best, kat |
Subject: RE: Modify an existing link on Mudcat From: wysiwyg Date: 14 Nov 07 - 11:23 PM We have a Dead Links thread too, for reporting problems in need of correction. If I could see, I'd find it for you.... ~Susan |
Subject: RE: Modify an existing link on Mudcat From: katlaughing Date: 14 Nov 07 - 11:36 PM It's not dead, though. It still works.:-) |
Subject: RE: Modify an existing link on Mudcat From: Joe Offer Date: 15 Nov 07 - 01:28 AM Hi, Quantock - it was under "Traditional Music Festivals, which was a subcategory under Miscellaneous. I moved the category to Festivals and Venues, where it should be more at home. Send me a personal message with details of the changes that should be made. For problems with links, it's best to contact me directly. I'm supposed to be maintaining it (and actually, I do a reasonably good job....) There is a good volunteer opportunity if somebody's looking for one. I need somebody to go through the links every six months or so, to test all the links and tell me which ones need fixing. Thanks. -Joe Offer- May, 2009 - I've been going through links in the Forum and in the Links section, and I'm trying to update dead links where I find them. I often find that I can find the contents of a dead link at the Wayback Machine at archive.org Please don't bother notifying me of old, dead links unless it's really important - better to post a new link in the thread or in the Links section (and include something in the message or link description that informs us that the prior link is dead). |
Subject: RE: Modify an existing link on Mudcat From: quantock Date: 15 Nov 07 - 10:02 PM Thanks for the help, Kat, Susan and Joe. Also, thank you Kat for the welcome back to the fold as it were. Actually, I have gotten back into it as a result of joining the Mudcat group on Facebook, and getting to know some Mudcatters a little better on there. What a great bunch of people! Whatever you guys will be celebrating over the next couple of months I hope you all have a wonderful time. Cheers, Rob. |

Subject: RE: Modify an existing link on Mudcat From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 25 May 09 - 11:22 PM Joe -
I am sincerely confused (not the first time - only last year I discovered "brackets" [bhuwa-shuwa]were not necessary on a DT/forum search)
Joe-Why bring this up?
There is a "dead link" responce area MC -
Somehow - I smell "bait."
Sincerely,
PERHAPS.... The mushroom thread has given color to everything?

Subject: RE: Modify an existing link on Mudcat From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 26 May 09 - 11:02 PM Thesis StatementThe Mudcat - must consider a third division (how many times do I proclaim this? (As many as it took for the BS and the PM)
1. Brits are distinctly different than the colonies.
2. The original MC American Blues/Folk mission statement has been defunct for many years.
3. The Brits have found a welcome forum on the MC (thank God I'm an American - and it appears they wish - they were too perhaps because ot "legal issues."
4. Laws of England and the USA are frequently divergent (and have been since our less-than-amicable separation.) Therefore - be it resolved - a legal defence fund should be established, for Max, to prevent the downfall of the MC (or PSU)...and to shelter the Mudcat from default... like some many ...so very recently.
Sincerely,
Mudcat and the recently "ol defunct lady website" do not "cut it" for me - on the "WayBack Machine" |
