Subject: RE: Romford Folk Club - 21st Nov 07 From: Jeanie Date: 21 Nov 07 - 04:36 AM Hello - I won't be able to get there, but just wanted to say how good to see a folk club back at the Old Oak again - I used to go there in the early 70s when it was held in the little outhouse-type building at the back. I was very interested in the website, too: John Durrant has collected an enormous number of recordings of folk clubs in the area, going back to the early 70s. Just reading the names brought back lots of memories ! Whatever happened to Dominic Patten and The Riggers, I wonder ? Are these recordings - which have now been lodged at the Essex Record Office - available to listen to by the general public ? Thanks for a very interesting trip down memory lane. - jeanie |
