Hoyt Axton recorded JOHN HENRY on his 1962 LP "The Balladeer" and on his 1963 LP "Greenback Dollar." The same song, under the title LEGEND OF JOHN HENRY also appears on the 1994 various-artists compilation CD "The Greatest Stars of Folk Music."

The sound is taken from "The Balladeer" and the "video" is just a composite of still photos.

It certainly is an intense--some might say overwrought--performance.

Maybe somebody can figure out the chords, etc, from that file.
