Subject: Lincoln Session this Sunday From: GUEST,Dáithí Date: 28 Nov 07 - 04:23 AM It's that time of the month again - first Sunday of the month means the second Lincoln Session, to be held in the Dog and Bone, John St, off Monks road, Lincoln - from 3pm till you get fed up! All styles welcome...we have no leader or hierarchy, just friendly folk who last time played and listened to Irish trad, Scottish ballads , English Sea Shanties, American Old Time and Blues. Be great to see as many Lincoln/shire folkies as possible supporting this fledgling event - we've been trying for a long time to get a regular session in Lincoln, so would be great to see YOU there! Thanks - Dáithí |

Subject: RE: Lincoln Session this Sunday From: GUEST,Dáithí Date: 29 Nov 07 - 04:37 AM Thanks for taking the time to post, folks - I appreciate there are a lot of demands on people's time..and hope you're well on the road to recovery Backwoodsman! You all know how difficult it is to get these things going, so any publicity you can spread around would be much appreciated. Lincoln desrves a good regular session, and I find it difficult to believe with all these fine musicians about we can't manage a once a month afternoon session! I'm hoping that most of the Hoolies will be there again so a good time is guaranteed for those able to make it - maybe next time! Best wishes - Dáithí PS Private Plug!! Gone to the Dogs are at the Jolly Brewer, Lincoln this Saturday from 8.30 till midnight, and at Old Nick's Tavern, Horncastle next Wednesday Dec 5th |

Subject: RE: Lincoln Session this Sunday From: GUEST,Dáithí Date: 30 Nov 07 - 06:00 AM Sooz - "Sorry mate - same day as our new singaround at Corringham." What time's that start, then, Sooz - maybe folks could get warmed up in Lincoln at 3 then drift off (we finished about 5.15 last time)to your place after that! (I can dream can't I??) All the best for your singaround so. Dáithí |

Subject: RE: Lincoln Session this Sunday From: Sooz Date: 30 Nov 07 - 08:17 AM Possible, but not always easy to get a pass-out for an afternoon and an evening! We started in Corringham in July to celebrate the smoking ban and its going very well. We won't always be on the first Sunday BTW. |

Subject: RE: Lincoln Session this Sunday From: GUEST,Dáithí Date: 04 Dec 07 - 04:17 AM Well, didn't manage to head up to Corringham after all - we had a fantastic afternoon att he Dog and Bone with around 15 musicians and lots of supporters (the pub was full all afternooon) - again a good mix of Irish trad, blues and country-style folk. Could have done with some English singers, though!! Hope to see folks again on January 6th! Meanwhile enjoy whatever winter celebrations you indulge in! Mo bheannachtaí oraibh go léir! Dáithí |
