Bernie used to stop at my house occasionally when I live in Durham in the 70's. I recall him going off to gigs, guitar case on his back, on a small motorbike (Honda 175?) which had problems with the electrics. Damp weather used to provide lots of high tension sparks on the engine block rather than firing the thing! He's well worth seeing if you get the chance. Sadly I'm at the other end of the country now...
