Mudjack! Wy-Oh, Wy-Oh, now? After the fact? Hehehe, I love it! BUT, this being a state full of oilfields and oilfield workers, if we called ourselves the Mudslingers, they'd all just think we were with a mud company, packing the hole of some rig (oil rig, you guys!) They'd wonder why we were singing! And, where our mud truck was!

Besides that, bet is from Colorado, but she can still claim WYO, too!

LMAO,

kat

Rick.....in yer dreams, mate! My sis, bet, wouldn't be caught dead in suhc an outfit!Hehehe, I on the otherhand, sans a few more pounds and who knows? If the breastplate would do something about gravitational "sag" then I'd probably put up with the chafing long enough for a publicity shot!

Also, love the suggestion for the "embers". That's a good one!

Thanks! love, kat

Gotta admit Kat, it's a good name. If you hit it big and you need a back-up band it can be "Folk-Fyre and the little Embers". Now back to the costumes: I favour a sort of "Xena" style, with steel breast-plates and thonged boots, and no tipples showing!

I'm sorry to have missed this thread developing (and also sorry to have spent some weeks away - I really must officially join).

Anyway I was going to suggest (you did say there were four of you in total didn't you?)

the Kat came back

Fourplay (in the UK there is an all female harmony folk 3some called Threeplay)

Foursis (or Emfoursis if you prefer)

By the way my band is called Roger the Chorister

Thank you, thank you! LMAOWROTF! You guys are great! I thought the temper went the way of the red in my hair when it started to fade, but then I drug out the chemicals, so....perhaps the red on the head has prompted a return, but I LIKE that "refreshingly assertive" and STRONG SENSE OF SELF, I definitely agree with!

KC, 4BB's would be great, except I could never get my sisters to go for it. BTW, gang, I hear, from good authority, that KC has a wonderful voice. Can't wait to hear it.

Thanks, you Mudders!

Just thought you'd all like to know, we've officially picked a name! Sorry to say we didn't use any of the ones suggested here. But you all did help to get the creative juices flowing and this is what we came up with: Folkfyre!

Bet used to be known by the nickname, Cinders, and I used to have a hot temper, so we decided it fits!

Thanks to you all!

katlaughing, proud to be a part of "Folkfyre"

There's a folkie group in Oz called the Sensitive New Age Cowpersons (SNAG, assume you know about sensitive new age guys?). Maybe a female version of that would be fun. Can't think of anything at present but I'm working on it.

Does that last idea read badly, does it fall into the transatlantic, you can't see my face or hear my voice trap? It suddenly occurs to me that some people may have a negative attitude to the musical sounds emanating from felines. Which is not what I meant (my fingers tried to type mewnt) at all. Bad idea, then.

I've been keeping out of this, 'cos I can't visualise you, only audiolise, but have been visited by two thoughts. One - due to the choir outside my window this morning - is Katsong. (It doesn't include Bet, though). The other lurks back in the place name thread, from the Burford old people's home. Ramping, or Rampant Kats.

RICK!!! I WANT THAT SONG!!!

Up until this darn diet thng, which is working, I could have BEEN that mystic cowgirl!!! Still could, cause I still don't "do" beef!!!! Heck, if your friend doesn't mind, let's throw that name into the ring, too!!!

I promise I will tear bet away from the Rockies and we'll try to agree on one or another. I like Mudders alot, with or without the udders! Hehehehe

I was kinds hoping Karespaw might get a suggestion from old 'Spaw, but didn't want to burden him with it when i tlaked with him today. what a great call!

Kat and Bet. Now what's it gonna be? You've got a heck of a lot of choices here, and "enquiring minds want to know". My vote goes to "Mudders with Udders". (can't remember who suggested it)

Whatever you choose I've found a great theme song for you. It's called "Mystic Cowgirls of the Prarie". It's funny as all get out. It's about a posse of vegetarian cowgirls who ride the rage liberating steers. It's written by my friend Joe Hall who in my opinion is the finest songwriter on the planet. Don't worry, you've never heard of him..Canadian artists don't get much distribution in the U.S.

I was kidding about "Mudders with...."

Since you live in Colorado, site of the recent tragedy, and since the name Columbine denotes "a branching herb of the crowfoot family having handsome, colorful flowers", the name The Colorado Columbines, or just The Columbines, in honor of the victims comes to mind. Let something good sprout from something bad....

I agree Banjer....this really sounds like a job for Catspaw et al. My favorite so far is "Mountain Mudders". Used to play in a group called "The AOSP Ensemble"= At Our Sexual Peak..(all women over forty, except the bass player. Feel free to use it if you want but I like Mountain Mudders A LOT!! I think my favorite so far is Bet the Ranch.

Bet the Kat

B and D, or Bea and Dee (a minor third and a sexual practice. You might have to change your initial, Kat. The Germans go up to H, but I don't know of any note called K.)

Hermony (that must have been done)

Nose to the Rhinestone (that was just free association, and it might have nothing to do with any of you)

Bet's Got Your Tongue, Bet's Nine Lives, Bet in the Hat--maybe there's a version of that that isn't as lame as the above, or that works if your other sisters participate.

Our Children's Aunts. Okay, it's a little weird.
