Subject: The 12 Days of Peacetime?

Surely someone out there in Mudcatland can help with this query:

Back in the 1960's I heard a song called "The Twelve Days of
>Peacetime." I am trying to find the lyrics to it. It was sung to
>the tune of The Twelve Days of Christmas. It Began, "On the first
>day of peacetime, my leader said to me, There'll be no world war
>three." Other lines were "Bigger better bombs", "Don't sign the
>test ban", and at the point where you'd hear "Five Gold Rings" it
>was "Rearm Germany!" It was a satirical political hoot sung at the
>National Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan by one of the
>Counselors there named Ira Kaufman.
>
Thanks in advance

On the 12th day of peacetime, my government said to me, CRASH! BANG! BOOM! and there won't be a world.
on the 11th day of peacetime my government said to me ?
On the 10th day of peacetime...?
On the 9th day of peacetime...?
On the 8th day of peacetime...?
On the 7th day of peacetime...?
On the 6th day of peacetime...?
On the 5th day of peacetime, my government said to me, rearm Germany!
On the 4th day of peacetime, my government said to me, Build a fallout shelter.
On the 3rd day of peacetime, my government said to me, Fallout doesn't hurt.
On the 2nd day of peacetime, my government said to me, save your uniforms.
On the 1st day of peacetime, my government said to me, there won't be a world war 3.
In days 11 thru 6, the government says "Atom Bombs for Peace," "Learn to shoot a rifle" and four other statements I can't remember. I only heard it two or three times in the summer of 1963 in Memphis.

I used to sing The 12 Days of Peacetime at Thee Coffe House in San Angelo Texas in 1969-70.
I never knew who wrote and can't for the life of me remember where I first heard it.
