I am searching for the drawing/caricature of J Edgar Swoop that was on the album cover of the vinyl record. It was hilarious and was drawn to fit the ditty perfectly.

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: there once was an eagle... From: Jim Dixon Date: 12 Jun 11 - 06:56 AM I'm sure the song that was wanted (way back in 1997) must be I AM THE EAGLE by Rhett Davis. The lyrics have been posted here. There is information about the singer/songwriter's web sites here. |

Subject: there once was an eagle?..... From: lenny@unforgettable.com Date: 20 Mar 97 - 01:01 AM a friend of mine is looking for the lyrics to a song that has me stumped. she claims it goes something like this: "there once was and eagle a 'something something (hight-flying)?' eagle." She can't remember the next lines, but the eagle apparantly spots a rabbit (or something) on the ground and says somthing like this: "Please do not fear me for i will not harm you for i am in need of company." The only other information she could give me is she thinks she last heard the song in the early 70s, and it was a slow ballad by a male vocalist. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I really want my friend to stop bugging me about this song. lenny |
