Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival NEEDS YOU!

I am in the final stages of booking and confirming the bands for festival 2008 and starting to 'fit' the festival mainstage and fringe together. When that all links up with the dancers, the boat rally (which promises something new and special and to do with floating gardens, but I am not allowed to say anything about that yet!) It will once again be a spectacular festival.

At our AGM just before Christmas, sadly we lost a few committee members who have been invaluable over the years. As those mudcatters who have visited MFAB know it is a huge festival that is run by volunteers, me included.

If you think you might be interested in joining us, you don't have to commit to being on the committee, any extra pair of hands is welcome we enjoy having associated helpers and stewards, but we need you now! We meet once a month but more often in the weeks leading up to the festival. We'd love to hear from you. Contact me or send a message through the festival website.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Living abroad, I'm no good in that respect. But could you please give us the dates for 2008? I may actually get to visit Britain again next summer.

Friday 13th 14th and 15th June 2008

I am really saddened that Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival is now in the same situation other festivals found themselves in. Lack of funding, lack of willing volunteers, so we are finding that unless a festival can survive as a stand alone festival, with enough 'staff' to run it - then it will be lost.

It is unlikely that this festival committee can continue after this year without 'new blood,'

I am already struggling to find time as a working mum to put the fringe together, any volunteers? We also need someone to find some lucrative sponsors - come on there must be someone out there with a tiny bit of spare time!!

Liz
