SilverSmith - The delightful Maryrrf and I - are the featured act at Maidenhead Folk Club on Thursday the 7th of February , with an 8.30 pm start ! There are STRONG rumours of a Transatlantic visit from The Shivers from Washington DC (Catter Fortunato and his wife ) with the equally strong possibility of Micca being on FULL public view as well ! Be Nice to see a few Catters there !

Just a thought but was Micca not banned 35 years ago when the club was first set up on the grounds that he may turn up 35 years later.

I have had contact with both Micca ns Furtunto ! With them doing floor spots , a new A Capella group with Chris Harris ,and all the usual Maidenhead regulars , I think we are in for a good Night !!

Kate said after tea tonight "we are going out tonight to see Tony & pearl" I said "no, we are not, I'm not spending the night outside a pub because I want a ciggy" so we stayed home! Sorry, but will be the same on Feb 7th & any other date you can think of!
I will go to the usual festivals this year, but don't think that I will leave the caravan much.

Oh Dave, that's so sad! Wish there were a way we could persuade you to come & enjoy clubs and festivals with the rest of us. I admire your principles, but I'm glad I haven't got them myself!

Meanwhile I'm determined to get along on the 7th, couldn't last night as I'd spent a long day in the garden and was.... feeling a little weary. Looking forward to meeting Maryrrf & Fortunato!

I am indeed here in Hayes and after I had a a nap in the afternoon to recover from jet lag Terry and I went over some of the songs we're planning to do. Hard to choose which ones! We have plenty of time to figure it out though. I'm looking forward to this gig!

We seem to have got away with it ! Some excellent support from Chance and Suzette , Micca , Moira , Admiral , the New Quartet and Liz and Allan !
A pile of catters turned up and didnt get to sing - My Guru , Trayton , Wild flying Dove , Bubblyrat , as well as a lot of
Maidenhead Regulars . WE enjoyed it , and it seems the club enjoyed it too!!

I would love to come, but Fuddy Duddy has lost his marbles from trying to find Joe Schlock's old Alter Boy's kilted ferret!

On the other hand I suppose if our websites continue to have 6 times as many hits on songs - especially by nice looking young tarts - than on tunes - even those high speed diddley ones, then I ought to be taking singing lessons and giving up the percolator bagpipe!

What a fantastic evening, the place was heaving & Catters were coming out of the woodwork from far distant places in the UK, just brilliant!

Though we got there late (situation normal) I managed to hear most of Mary & Terry's excellent sets and I have to say, for a Twin-Continent Duo (oh dear, I can hear the puns now) they performed very well together. I was very impressed with Mary's lovely voice and talent, and Terry, well, his talent goes without saying!!

Was delighted to meet Chance and the lovely Suzette, if only briefly and wish them safe journeys and a Fab visit (maybe next time you could stay over with us for a night or so?). Richard doffed his hat at them on the M4 while we were driving home afterwards. At least, we assumed it was them as we were particularly entranced by the last minute navigation decisions, well done!

It was a wonderful evening for Terry and me. Thanks to so many catters for turning up and listening to us! It was fun to see Micca, Chance and Susette (all the way from Maryland), Cllr, Emma B, My Guru (whom I hadn't met before), Wild Flying Dove, Bubbly Rat, et al. Chance and Susette did two of my favorite songs - Shady Grove and Going to the West, for their floor spot, and that was a treat. Also I got to hear Moira (Flying Cat) sing live, after listening to her album over and over. She is even better in person! We had picked an eclectic mix of songs and it seemed to go over well. Many thanks to the folks at Maidenhead for the warm welcome we received last night! Now it's off to London to take in the sights!

A lovely evening, and a chance to meet so many old friends too including one of my 'oldest' Hovering Bob ....... sorry Bob :)

So much talent under one roof, that not everyone even got the chance to sing!
