On Friday 25th January the Music Institute Club in Guildford will be welcoming Bill Caddick as the guest performer. To quote the organisers "Opportunities to catch Bill in performance are few and far between and we were delighted when he said "yes" to our invitation for him to come down from Shropshire to be our guest at The Guildford Institute on Friday 25th January.

During his career, as well as being a superb performer in his own right, Bill has been a member of a number of innovative line-ups including the puppet and street theatre group Magic Lantern, the Albion Band during its residency at the National Theatre, Home Service (with John Tams) and the ceilidh band All Blacked Up.

Nowadays he is probably best known through the performances by others of his songs, including artistes isuch as Christy Moore, Alex Campbell, The Yetties, Peter Rowan, John Kirkpatrick, Artisan, Coope, Boyes and Simpson and, most notably, June Tabor. You can catch a glimpse of Bill in performance here and Christy Moore singing Bill's "John Of Dreams" here

Bill has been described as "one of the finest songwriters of his generation" and another reviewer has said of his songs that they "cannot fail to strike a long chord in all of us". Others have made fine recordings of Bill's songs but there is no substitute for hearing them sung by the man himself.

Tickets will be available on the door or can be purchased in advance at the Music Institute website
