Subject: Uher Report 4200

Some years ago I was given a Uher Stereo Report reel to reel recorder in perfect working order, along with a pair of very tasty AKG mikes and a massive record collection. I told the person who donated these that I had could make extravagant use of the mikes and the records, but that I had no use for the Uher. All the same I promised said person that I'd find a good home for it.

Three years later, the thing is still on my shelf. I've approached various archives, sound libraries and audiophiles and always got the same response; 'Anyone with any sense digitised their analogue recordings years ago'.

I don't want to see the thing end up in a bin, or the Science Museum, and I don't believe it would be right to sell it. Therefore, I'm offering it free to anyone who wants it, and can demonstrate that they have a practical use for it. Recipient collects naturally.

Can anybody who's interested let me know.

Hi Fred.
If it's still up for grabs, I'd happily take it off your hands!!
Have a large archive of R to R tapes.
Does it have the extensions to enable it to take 10 & Half inch reels, so much the better!.
Are you UK based?
Happy to drive to get it!
Regards Ralphie (London-ish)

Cross posting hell time.
North West wouldn't be a problem.
