Subject: Folk South West - ACE Press Release From: oggie Date: 04 Feb 08 - 05:15 PM Taken from an Arts Council Press Release dated 1st Feb 2008 (I assume after the appeals proccess) "Funding will not be renewed for Folk South West. Nick Capaldi said: 'Many aspects of Folk South West's work remain popular and well supported. However, the Arts Council's funding is specifically provided for Folk South West's work as a regional development organisation across the South West. Although, over the years, there have been some very good projects, we feel that the range and extent of this work has diminished as Folk South West has focused its activities closer to its home base in Somerset. Over this same period, the Arts Council has been the majority funder of Folk South West's core organisational costs." Nick Capaldi is ACE's SouthWest Executive Director. Don't know what's happened elsewhere, nothing in the other ACE press releases that I could spot. Steve PS I know there was a thread on ACE funding but couldn't find through the Search Engine, sorry |
