We call this dance 'Family Waltz' and I don't know what the music/dance is actually called. I'm sure someone here does :). Not sure what country its from...

I think it sounds very much like the first versions of "muckin' the byre" I heard.

Sounds Western European, or Scandinavian, to me - be interesting to have it identified, as I'm sure some Mudcatter will!!!

yeah, Kat...same song, I couldn't remember how to spell 'Geordie' to make the name I learned fit the standard name.

Listen to the "Muckin' Geordie's Byre" song Kat posted a link to? It wasn't a great guess--but not a real bad one either.

If you find out later what the song is called, would you pull this thread back out and post to let us know?
