To quote someone from the site: "Now, THAT'S a love song!"

The best love song I've heard from JP since 'Iron Ore Betty' off the 'Bruised Orange' release.

Prine recorded a CD duet package a couple of years ago with country/folk ladies. This song and 2 or 3 others, incl. 'We're Not the Jet Set', with Dement are on that CD. I have it, but it has gone temporarily missing, or I would give particulars.
The video was great! Thanks for the posting.

The song is IN SPITE OF OURSELVES by John Prine.

Amergin posted the lyrics here.

Ely posted the lyrics and chords here.

JenEllen posted partial lyrics here.

Joe Offer posted the lyrics and chords here.

The movie that John Prine refers to is Daddy and Them, 2001, written and directed by Billy Bob Thornton.

And I've been watching it on YouTube (saw the TV show when it aired) for a loooooonnnnnnnggggg time. So what's the matter with the you Amos (& rest of you too)? Really behind the 8 ball!

Great song ain't it? Unusual voices that work well together. Two of my absolute favorite folks................

And speaking of favorites together, check out this older one from two other favorites of mine with a very unique blend as well........

Hoyt and Linda

Go fish, Spaw. I actually got to perform the same duet with none other than Jen Ellen back at Runnymuck. That's even better. :D

Last night I wasn't able to access the Hoyt and Linda clip. I'm glad I tried again this morning. Love Hoyt" deep voice and forgot how great Linda is. Thanks Spaw.
