Anything folky happening in or around that part of the Lake District during that time?

The Skiddaw House hotel has things on a Tuesday night, in season, don't know about now. Worth a ring though. If you can fing Martin Jordans phone number or the hotel they will tell you.

The only session that I know about in Keswick is held every Sunday afternoon in the Twa Dogs Inn, just out of the town centre on the East side by the river. However, the last time I was there it must be at least a couple of years back, so not so sure if this is still held.

Twa Dogs is still operating but alternate sundays so you will need to find out which one

We have been going to Keswick every Whit for about 20 years. We found music in the Queens once. A phone call to Twa Dogs confirmed a session on Sunday afternoon which we failed to make.

We love Keswick and feel that some kind of informal session should be possible and perhaps we will make Twa dogs next time.

Not having much success here I'm afraid...
There isn't actually a hotel in Keswick called the Skiddaw House Hotel - there's the Skiddaw Hotel (off the Market Place) and Skiddaw House itself, which is a Youth Hostel at the back of beyond (down a long track past Threlkeld).
I'll probably be there from Tuesday through to Fri/Sat, so a Sunday session's no use.
I seem to recall an earlier thread bemoaning a rather unwelcoming singers/musicians' night somewhere in Keswick, one to avoid during the summer - but this is february.. so any other ideas?

Sorry MM, It is the Skiddaw Hotel on Market place. We have been there a few times on a Tuesday night, in season, but there is no real season in Keswick.
The format was residents and floor singers, but you have to make yourself known. Not a bad night. Only as good as the singers/musicians of course.

The Queens is opposite the Skiddaw Hotel on the Market place but I seem to remember that the folk club was right through the hotel in a room in a pub that could accessed via a side street.

The Skiddaw House Hostel can accessed via foot or mountain bike half way up Skiddaw itself and id a fine if challenging day out
