Girls on tour-west to Barnsley this coming Monday then north to Blaydon on Thursday-I hope Pistachio has a map. See club sites for detals-might even have a look myself.

Yes Sarah if we are not there by 7:30 we will be just outside Northampton having ended up on the wrong side of the M1. We are n Newcastle later on in the week -I've suggested the train........

Yes the weather hasn't been too kind

I came back over Saddleworth moor on Wednesday in thick fog about 70 ft visibility from Uppermill to Holmfirth, not too far fortunately but bad enough!

I've booked the car (a tad speedier and considerably more economical than the motorhome) so it's just a case of warming up the voices and we'll be with you. We'll put the website directions to the test and have the post code too, just in case.
Linda, we always get where we are going don't we?
I must admit it'll be more relaxing to take the train north.

Les, the sooty wagon has had plenty of adventures over the Hissyfit years but as we've been offered accommodation we'll not need to take our beds with us! If you haven't noticed I reckon that at a degree or two further north the February chill will be even chillier than a November night near Market Rasen/Faldingworth. Yes, (I can hear you thinking) it must be an age thing! The van has been in the family 14 years now, and for an 'F' reg it's done rather well - even starting first time after a 4 week break. Enough said. I need to save up for the MOT/service to be sure of getting to the summer festivals.....or find a very nice person to create a van that will fit down the drive way.... not an easy task.

Can't let this thread slide into oblivion without saying what a great night was had in Barnsley last night.

The atmosphere in the upstairs room was better than I have experienced for many a day and Hissyfit responded accordingly with a superb performance including a couple of new arrangements which were stunning.

It was also possible to fit in about 15 floor singers and it must be a record for me that I enjoyed everyone :0)

A return visit will be made!!

Had a great night of singing and The Hissys were in great form

Also had "Zooks" turn up going back down south after a North Yorkshire trip some interesting music and song

Room was full of appreciative singers

Yes it was indeed a truly sublime evening.
The Barnsley Wall Of Sound was there in full force and reinforced with some grand contributions from visitors from further afield (Ray already mentioned Zoox, but yours was appreciated too John R). I myself travelled a fair distance and don't for a moment regret it! One of the best club nights I've experienced for some time it was.

But Linda and Hazel themselves couldn't have done better - sheer magic!
Go see Hissyfit if ever you get the chance I say, you'll not regret it.

(Oh, and it gives the lie to anyone who shuns booking guest artists for a night of unaccompanied singing - it works just fine provided the club is compatible and the artist/s have contrast and versatility within a wide enough repertoire to sustain the sets.)

Looking forward to Easter Sing now.. how long is that spot Ray?

Thank you to everyone at Barnsley,
the club for hosting a wonderful evening,
to our many friends who travelled many miles and had to endure the disgusting fog on the way home
to the singers and players who demonstrated wonderful and diverse talents in the singaround and sang uninhibited and with vigour and enthusiasm when we aksed them to do so
to the architects who designed the room with perfect acoustics
it was a truly memorable and immensely enjoyable evening
