Subject: Lyr Add: AUTUMN GOLD (Roger Gall) From: The Shambles Date: 11 May 99 - 04:56 PM This is a song (of hope) for all those Mudcatter's who may be feeling that they are 'over the hill'.
Autumn Gold
No summer songs, it's getting late,
Autumn gold, the story's in the telling, not yet told.
A glass half empty, or half to fill?
Autumn gold, the story's in the telling, not yet told.
No magic, no miracle cures,
Autumn gold, the story's in the telling, not yet told. Roger Gall 1996 |
Subject: RE: Autumn Gold-A song for Mudcatter's From: katlaughing Date: 11 May 99 - 05:17 PM Oh, Shambs, that's beautiful, but what hill?**smile** (this from the still under-50 set!) I like to think of it as "center-age", which to me denotes the balance I finally feel I've achieved in my life. I won't use the "m"-age word because it just brings up so many negative connotations in society's mind! I love your song, though. It is really eloquent. I esp. like the tree analogy with the heartwood reference. Thanks, katlaughing |
