Well, I just got home from 2 weeks performing in Alaska, where I had a great time and got to pick and sing with Alaska Mike, and I see I'm gonna be in Texas this weekend. From the largest state in the Union to the second-largest state...
I hope Texas is warmer.
Uncle Phil, I'll swing by and say Hi, and I hope to meet a few more Mudcatters.

Seamus

Well, this past Tuesday at Bass Hall my wife and I went and saw the Chieftains; and, at NTIF we'll get to see Battlefield Band and my absolute favorite trad band, Altan - all in the same week! Outstanding! Guess we'll just have to go - see y'all there. Cheers.

A wild weekend with a lot of fun and great music.

I'm happy to report that Seamus and Bill both came by for their free beer on Sunday. We were staying at the festival hotel and really enjoyed getting to visit with Seamus there.

On Saturday Mrs. Clinton had a huge campaign rally in the coliseum on the fairgrounds where our festival is held. Folks streamed over to the Irish festival when her rally was over. The last count I saw showed 37,000 people through the gate by 3:00. I was working the beer stand at the front gate when rally ended. We didn't know what had happened – just that the dam had burst and we were being flooded. It was several very busy hours before we knew why.

Pictures when I things caught up on the day job.

Sounds like a good time was had by all! Hope we can make it down there next year. Uncle Phil, we knew you were really, really good on the stick--the beer stand after a Hilary rally is NOT where I would want to be! Whew!

See ya in September?

Or even a Hillary rally. :)

Think of it as a bunch of Democratic voters conserving gas by doing more than one thing on that trip.

Ladies, ladies, scoff if you must, but right now, in Texas, they are composing 80 verse corridos about our brave defense of Beer Stand #1 against the pants-suited hordes. They will be singing those corridos around campfires all along the border for generations.
- Phil

Lin, we will see you in September. Michelle got early discount tickets a couple months ago. I assume John is already packing.

Uncle Phil - nice shots, but the one you've labeled, "Cor Gaeilge" is
actually, "Loescher & Kenneth." I'm sure the girls of Cor Gaeilge
don't mind having their name thrown out, but they don't look anything
like Wolf and Mark. Cheers.

Uncle Phil,

Tell Michele "way to go" on the WVA tickets, and we'll definitely see y'all there. John isn't packing yet, but he's making noises in that direction. Soon the lists will start...

Bill and Deanna, hope to see you two at Winfield again also.

The photos are terrific, as usual. I will keep an ear cocked for a new corrido wafting up the breeze from Texas way...The Festival needs to mount a plaque at the site of Beer Stand #1 (or maybe just a giant-sized beer mug??)

Good catch, TG. I hope Cor Gaeilge didn't see that. Imagine their shock when they discover that they are really a dude with an accordion. It's fixed now. I attribute the error to sleep deprivation.

Lin, Michelle says howdy back. She says to tell John to pack an extra extension cord. She got small sewing machine for Christmas and plans to bring it.

Dear Phil - I looked in your photos for that mislabeled photo - I would love to see the photo of Loescher + Kenneth that was mislabeled... this NTIF was their first perfrmance in this duo arrangement (foremerly they were onstage together with Jiggernaut). Thanks.

I thought they looked familiar. Click on the link below and then click on the thumbnails to see the pics. The last couple, taken from the side of the pub stage are pretty good.
