Six short videos of various banjo styles, ranging from African akonting music to 19th century minstrel banjo, early 20th century classic banjo as well as bluegrass and original music. Gorgeous playing!

The minstrel and akonting stuff is gorgeous. Bill Evans was teaching bluegrass banjo a year ago, here in the UK at Sore Fingers Summer School in the Cotswolds. He's showing a superb width to his banjo mastery here.
Cheers

Bill and Kathy Kallick have teamed up to form a new band they call Rustler's Moon -- check out their site where you can listen to five tracks from a forthcoming CD.

Geez .... I almost croaked when I saw this thread ... initially thought it was something about the jazz pianist Bill Evans playing a banjo.

number 6,

have you ever heard about the saxophoneplayer Bill Evans? He does a mix of jazz and bluegrass:

Look for "Soulgrass"

Bill's also playing at TwickFolk....in fact it's a week tonight on Sunday 16th (with Megan Lynch).

I think they also have a few other dates in the run up to Easter so they might end up with sore fingers before they even get to Sore Fingers.
