Was this written by Allan Taylor, some is it someone else's song?

The Blackpool club is having an Allan Taylor night: all the club singers have to sing one of his songs. Mrs Santa is having problems finding something suitable, partly because others have already booked the ones she knew and liked, and partly because in her opinion Allan tends to put the melody into the musical accompaniment rather than the lyrics. This makes it difficult for an unaccompanied singer. She has been provided with a few copies to listen to, and has taken a fancy to The Pied Piper: but it is on an album where not all the songs are Allan's own.

Mind you, it's a bit late to learn anything else.....but we'd like to know if it is one of his own.

See here.

The site gives the song dual authorship: Allan Taylor and Myles Wooten.

Hardly surprising that they co- wrote so much , as they were probably the two best writers in the contemporary folk genre in Brighton at the time , and good friends too .
