Subject: Lyr/Chords Req: Any Old Time From: NormanD Date: 09 Mar 08 - 07:09 AM Does anyone know the guitar chords for this old Jimmie Rodgers song, "Any Old Time". I know it well from Maria Muldaur's version, but am less familiar with the original. Chords / lyrics of either (if different) would be appreciated. Thanks, as always. Norman |

Call round any old time and make yourself at home, Put your feet on the mantle-shelf, Tune in your wireless and help yourself, We don't care if your friends have left you all alone Rich or poor, knock at the door, and make yourself at home |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Any Old Time From: NormanD Date: 09 Mar 08 - 01:53 PM It's this one, as posted (thanks!) by Leadfinger: "I just received your letter; You're down-and-out, you say. At first I thought I would tell you To travel on the other way. But in my memory lingers All you once were to me. I'm going to give you another chance To prove what you can be. Any old time, you want to come back home Drop me a line, and say no mo' you'll roam. You had your chance, to play the game fair. When you left me, sweetheart, you only left a load of care. Now that you're down, I'm going to stick by you. If you will only say Your roaming days are through. You'll find me here, like the day you left me alone. Any old time, you want to come back home." Anyone know the guitar chords? |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Any Old Time From: Peace Date: 09 Mar 08 - 03:50 PM Sorry, but there were a few minor differences in these lyrics. However, I am having NO luck with chords/music. |
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Any Old Time From: NormanD Date: 09 Mar 08 - 04:50 PM Thanks Peace / Bruce What key do you think "Oh, ley-he-ee, ah-le-oh-lay-he-he" is in? If I wanted to start with the opening note to try & work it out then that yodel would send me all over the place. If it's a blue yodel then maybe I should start with a flattened 5th. But then again maybe I'll just stick to "In The Jailhouse Now" 'cos I know that one |
