The item is here (click), still under $10. It's a 1966 reprint of a book originally published in 1940. I see there are a few bids on it, so I hope it will go to some deserving folkie instead of a rapacious bookseller or collector.
This Belden/Missouri collection is one of my favorite collections of traditional songs. Anybody know if this book is available online? I get it confused with Brewster's Indiana collection, which is one of several significant books available at http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/index.html.

I got it for 21.50. I hope that's a good deal.

Too bad EBay disguises the names of bidders nowadays. I hate to get in a bidding war with friends* (but I didn't bid against you on this one, Mark, because I already have the book). My records show I paid $23.95 for my copy, and it doesn't have the original binding. I'd say you got a good deal, and it's an excellent book.

*in fact, it might be a good idea to discuss our bids on Mudcat so we avoid bidding each other into poverty.

I checked the listings at www.abebooks.com. Unfortunately it was after I had already won. There is one copy for around 20-21 bucks with free shipping. It could be worse.

I'm man_at_sea. I buy for the Vancouver Folk Song Society. Mostly I'm augmenting our collection (which you can browse at http://www.geocities.com/vfss.geo/archives.html but I also bid on behalf of other VFSS members. I did bid for the Missouri book but obviously didn't go high enough. Mark, I think you got a good deal. The Missouri book is to my mind one of the most interesting of the State collections.
