Refresh Threads not updating correctly?

Hi, I just noticed, this morning, that when I hit the "refresh threads" button, it does not reset them to the latest timing of posts. This has happened when more than thirty minutes have past and then some.

To get them to update, I have to go out of the program altogether and start all over. Has anyone else had this problem? (I didn't put this in the trouble forum because I never seem to find answers there.) Sorry, MAX!

Under your browser configuration:
1. Clear your cache
2. Check the box that compares your cache version to the current page version everytime.

In Navigator use Edit-Preferences-Advanced-Cache

In I.E. use View-InternetOptions-General-Page

I have Win 98, and this is how I'd do it.

Go to "start," then "conrol panel," then "internet options"< br> Click on the "general" tab up at the top
In the middle section labeled "temporary internet files," click on "settings"
Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages," I have "automatically" marked.

This may work in other versions of Windows, too.

Still another approach would be to click on:
The toolbar - Reload or Refresh if the page is "stuck"

Tried both. Thanks anyway. I don't have this problem with any other site I go to, so I think it is "indigenous" to the 'Cat. That's why I started this thread. Hopefully, when Max gets settled in the new office, he'll notice this and tell us what cna be done.

Unfortunately, it appears to be indigenous to only YOUR machine.

No one else it logging in with a similar problem.

What is your browser, and what is your version? I believe there is a simple solution.

Me and my big mouth! Now I'm having problems. I click on refresh, and I get a message saying I have to re-send information. It only happens on the main page.

I didn't post in the help forum because that doesn't seem to work either.

Thanks, Gargoyle, but as I said it isn't happneing with any other sites on the Internet. Maybe it has to do with the move that Max is making.

Or perhaps, you only desire the attention of MAX?

Using Netscape 2, 3 and 4 I have no problem.
Using IE no problem.
Using Opera 3.21 no problem.
Using Linux, no problem

If the previous suggestions in the thread have not helped, and you have tried them, I would suggest that you examine your memory allocations. The nature of your postings indicates that you are drawn towards the "chatty columns" that have run in excess of 70 entries. My guess is that you are using a MAC system and it is not "dumping." In other words you could say it is constipated and you need to examine your usage style and memory configuration.

Still another way is to set the disk cache allotment to 0000 and to set the memory allotment to 22222K (or higher)
