Me? Rich? HA, I say! Some Americans are rich, but now that the US dollar is worth 1.01171 CA dollars... oh wow, man! I AM rich! Our dollar is now worth more than yours!

Of course, it's all relative. I'll be spending most of my fortune on fuel, not to mention the previously promised potable and tobacco. What would you like Ron? I'm at the limit for booze and butts. Maybe some maple syrup - that's a New England thing and something that people from other countries often enjoy. Just let me know what you'd like and I'll do my best.

I was just kidding around.... thanx for asking Jeri.... we have good refreshments and combustibles.... I eat syrup every day, being in maple country also.... just get yourself there safely, it'll be nice to meet you... that's gift enough for this lad...

I don't think you need to bring maple syrup. More than 75% of the maple syrup in the world is produced in Quebec.

Jeri, it is good to hear that your all pumped up. Me , I'm a little tired. I've been working on this since last September. I have noticed that the same thing happened when I was working on the last festival I was involved with. I think it is called burn out. Well, not really. In a few days I'll be in full gear again.

Just spent the last 3 nights in the bush with my 9 year old grand son doing a little rough camping and fishing, which we were luckey enough to catch and have for breakfast yesterday morning. I would send you all a picture but a little difficult in this thread. The Sugar Bush we slept in was just beautiful. And here is the best part. We were not bothered by black flies or mosquitoes.
To repeat Ron's words, it will be a pleasure to meet you Jeri.   And to have Bruce back home again will also be a treat.

Now lets keep this thread going until it happens.
Beer (adrien)

Welcome back, Adrien! I'm sure you'll recover and snap into action for the last preparations for the "Big Show". Glad you had such a good time with the grandson.
Jeri, I hope I can meet you at the festival.
Gnu, for Gawd's sake, stay out of those illegal op cornfields if you come! Both farmers and growers know how to use shotguns, I'm sure. Anyway, that would be a corny way to pass the time.

Canucks are great at directions, eh?

One more "direction". If it's as hot in La Belle Prvoince as it is here in The Picture Province (New Brunswick fer ye ferrinners), make sure you have the necessities : #1 Sunscreen #2 Lot's of it. After that, Beer can advise if fly dope or anything else is a good idea.

It's noon here in Moncton and it's 33C in the shade... about 44H (Humidex = "feels like").

Our program is finally finished. I hope we didn't miss anyone. Final proof reading will be done this evening. Counting the wee ones(Youth Stage) we have 65 musicians appearing on stage. Not all at once as the hay wagon would collapse.

Let us arise and go to Canada
That lovely place of the heart.
Let us go to Apple Hollow
Where fiddle and guitar ring out
And a singing voice lingers
In the dark of the night.

Jeri, have a safe trip and a wonderful time!

Had to make some quick adjustments Sunday. The Bridge End Dairy Co. had to cancel due to the main singer being sick. Replacement is Ian Gray who runs a coffee house called the Adair Coffee house. There is a web site for it. Great stage presence and wonderful voice. Stuart MacDougall who is the lead singer not capable of making it is very disappointed as he was also to be on the Song Writers' Circle. His replacement is a twosome from up state New York called "Crossing North". Both very good writers.

Oh, I am sooo needing some good news..what with all the bad things that are happeningd on so many fronts, including the tragedies and losses that several Mudcatters have experienced recently, and that we, their cyberspace friends and acquaintances have experienced second or third hand with them even if it was just by our reading about what happened, and offering our prayers, and best wishes, and the small degree of tangible support we could muster.

But life sure does take a toll, doesn't it? That's one of the reasons I'm really looking forward to reading some good news about the Apple Hollow Music Festival.

I hope that all those who are attending that festival and who are performing at that festival remember those of us who aren't able to be there. I hope you guys and gals post lot of reports, and maybe even some links to photos.

So "On with the show!"* "Full speed ahead!"* And "big ups!"* to Adrien, and Bruce, and Ron, and all others who are involved with the Apple Hollow Music Festival!!

* Substitute whatever sayings you prefer that express your hope that everything flows together for the good and this festival turns out to be an artistic, social, and economic success!

Re: the songwriter's circle at Apple Hollow Music Festival

Garnet Rogers, one of Canada's greatest songwriters, will be at the festival and yet he's not listed for the circle. That's a surprise, especially since Garnet and Mike Reganstrief are friends from the Golem days and Garnet's played live on Mike's radio show quite a few times.

Can't wait to buy that new CD from Bruce Murdoch.

You just reminded me to make sure I have Garnet's CDs in the car for the trip. It's going to be fun meeting folks and hearing everyone's music. I'm familiar with Bruce and Garnet, and I've heard 4 strings and a Squeezebox on YouTube, but the rest will be a fresh experience. Soon, soon, SOON!

Just got back home from the Fest. It was quite wonderful, the weather was perfect and so were the performances. Bruce's set was outstanding and received with much enthusiasm, a standing ovation and requests for an encore. Met a bunch of new "Cats" including Jeri and KenM, terrific people but they're Mudcatters so I'm not surprised. Am still buzzing from the high of love and fellowship and music, a great evening all around. Will post some pics tomorrow.
