The Lincolnshire bluetongue case, at Spilsby, means the protection zone will be extended into Norfolk and the surveillance zone further into North and West Yorkshire. Spilsby is within the existing surveillance zone.

Is this likely to have any affect on moving around the county etc for festivals or live music. Or is this one of those things that does not stop travelling around the county?
Any of you mudcatters out there already experienced the situation?

The lurgy is carried by midges, not by people, even animals cannot infect each other, they need to be bitten by the midges for the lurgy to be transferred.
The restrictions apply only to the movement of animals outside the zone. There are no restrictions on people, hikers, gatherings etc.
However individual farmers have every right to impose their own restrictions if they feel concerned.
I can't see it being any problem for festivals etc.
Clarty Sough took bookings last year for agricultural shows inside the the smaller area last autumn and already have gigs for similar events this year in the larger zone.
These are events organised by the farming community who probably know the rules better than the rest of us.

All the best

Jim
