I'm looking for the CD of the Richard Valentine concert Martin Carthy made in 2005(?)at Ruskin Mill (Martin Carty at Ruskin Mill). I believe there were only 200 issued, and I really really need one. Does anyone know even anywhere I can get a listen of one?

Thanks!

How about contacting Ruskin Mill? (is this the Ruskin Mill near Stroud?)

Thanks, those occurred to me after posting this thread; I'll give them a go - ideally I'd like to buy one, of course...

(Not sure which Ruskin Mill it is yet, but will be finding out)

It was produced by Rod Stradling on the Musical traditions label, you could email him to find out if there are any left.

I have a feeling that there are no further copies of the CD available from Musical Traditions (ie Rod Stradling) - but may, of course, be wrong about that. The terms of production were that only a limited specified number could be produced and once they were gone, they were gone ... so you may find that you're going to have to buy one from somebody secondhand. Very much a collector's item! (and very good, I might add... and no, I don't have one personally, but bought one as a present for my sister several years ago when they were still available.)

Well, if you find out which Ruskin Mill it is.... if it's the Stroud one, I know someone who works there, might be able to ask.

Ruskin Mill and Rod Stradling points to Stroud. Martin did turn-up at the first night of the Minchinhampton Folk Club, unannounced. Sounds about the right date for the two events to be coincident.

Thurs nights in the Crown (Barn) since you ask

I love the way everyone knows things and they all link up and... well, anyway, thanks again. I'm impressed with your deduction, Mr Red. I've sent you a PM, Suegorgeous, and have been sending off other e-mails left, right and center - so we shall see. If I get this I shall have to listen to it daily, it's so valuable!

D.
