Those of you who missed our Shoregrass concert at the Borderline Folk Music Club back in November will get another chance to see them in Rockland County on Thursday afternoon, April 3rd at 2:30 PM. The concert is FREE to the public.

The venue is the Haverstraw King's Daughters Public Library located at 10 - West Ramapo Road, Garnerville, NY 10923. The phone number at the library is 845-786-3800. The library is located on the westbound side of Route 202 in the Shoprite Shopping Center behind the CVS Drug Store. The shopping center is also known as Rosman Plaza. It is 2 miles west of Exit 13 of the Palisades Parkway.

We, at The BorderLine Folk Music Club of Rockland County are thankful to Karen Romaner, director of this library, for providing the funds and facilities to help us produce this concert.

I urge anyone who is not working that day to attend. If we can show that this type of music draws a large enough audience, the library will agree to fund more such concerts in the future.

It will be the ShoreGrass Trio (AKA SHORTGrass) doing a program at this library in Garnerville. We like this sound with the 3-part vocals and banjo, mandolin and guitar, a bit mellower and with more subtlety than our 5-piece full band sound.

C'mon out and give us a listen if you can get away for a couple of hours!

Thanks to Carol Beaugard who announced this event on her Friday morning radio program (today) on WFDU fm at 89.1: Lonesome Pine RFD. She plays some wonderfull stuff, and we appreciate that she likes ShoreGrass and announces our events!

Besides the seniors & retirees we have some of the Borderline faithful and hard core bluegrass addicts who will be taking off from work that day to attend this FREE concert.

If we can attract a large enough audience to this FREE concert it will demonstrate that there is a demand for this type of music mid-week as well as on weekends. This will lead to more such events and will open up new opportunites for musicians who are looking for midweek gigs. So come folks and fill up the seats. You will be glad that you did. I just returned home from the library and am happy to report that the concert was a resounding success. Shoregrass rendered a superb performance. We had a very good attendance for a midweek matinee.
The library director was very surprised that so many people turned out for a Bluegrass performance on a Thursday afternoon. The crowd was really into it and the performers fed off of their enthusiasm.
Hopefully we can do it again in the not too distant future.
