Subject: RE: Sessions or clubs in London From: Leadfingers Date: 30 Mar 08 - 05:01 PM London is a bloody big place , and there are sessions in different bits of it just about every night of the week ! If you were staying in Walthamstow , a session in Harrow wouldnt be a of of interest unless you really WANTED to travel for a couple of hours !"! |
Subject: RE: Sessions or clubs in London From: GUEST,George Henderson Date: 31 Mar 08 - 04:01 AM Thanks for the reponses. I know London is big, and my visit may preclude me from visiting any club or session, but i cannot attend if i do not know hwen and where. I would like to make Islington but my arrival time in heathrow will probably mean that i cannot get there. Orpington is a bit far out. but I really appreciate the posts. Thankyou all |

Subject: RE: Sessions or clubs in London From: Doktor Doktor Date: 01 Apr 08 - 09:48 AM If youre flying to Stansted - Stortfolk host Phil Hare on 10th April and theres a decent Friday session at Whittlesford on 11th (quick by train!) |
Subject: RE: Sessions or clubs in London From: Herga Kitty Date: 01 Apr 08 - 03:44 PM Nice try, DD, but he's flying to Heathrow.... George - of course the other relevant questions are what is your ETA, where are you staying in London, and how easy will it be to get there from the folk club you decide to go to? Kitty |
Subject: RE: Sessions or clubs in London From: GUEST,George Henderson Date: 01 Apr 08 - 06:18 PM I will be staying in Hayes , Middlesex. ETA 8.30pm so it might be difficult to get anywhere in time. Friday is much more likely. |
Subject: RE: Sessions or clubs in London From: Herga Kitty Date: 01 Apr 08 - 06:26 PM George - Maidenhead definitely your best bet, especially if regulars Malcolm and Moira (who live in Hayes) will be going. LF is also based in Hayes, so over to you..... Kitty |
Subject: RE: Sessions or clubs in London From: Leadfingers Date: 01 Apr 08 - 06:31 PM George - I suggest you join MudCat - Its free , and it will mean information can be swopped without it being there for the Spammers to see ! Thanks for all of the info. The reason for my visit is personal and urgent. I may have to bring forward my visit so this may not work out. But thanks to everybody for the help. and I will join mudcat. I was a member one time but something went wrong and I never tried to fix it. |
Subject: RE: Sessions or clubs in London From: GUEST,HSA Date: 02 Apr 08 - 07:21 AM Just down the road from Hayes, Irish session in the Prince Albert, Hounslow Rd, Whitton. 9pm till late every Thursday. Might fit the bill. The Adam and Eve in Hayes sometimes has Irish/country music on a Friday night but it will be for listening rather than joining in if they do. |
Subject: RE: Sessions or clubs in London From: GUEST,George Henderson Date: 02 Apr 08 - 08:06 AM HSA, thanks that looks achievable |
