Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: Richard Bridge Date: 01 Apr 08 - 12:15 PM Unlike Dead Horse, where it is more likely to be perversion and batteries! |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: Dead Horse Date: 01 Apr 08 - 11:56 AM Distortion! Batteries! Sounds like a normal Gundulfs gig then. :-) |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: Richard Bridge Date: 01 Apr 08 - 10:52 AM Precisely. Therefore I shall miss you in the afternoon session from 3 pm until falling over. Indeed I think I am annoying the purists by playing electric mandolin with distortion pedals for Bishop Gundulfs most of the rest of the weekend. Must get a bigger battery amp! |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: GUEST,The Barden of England sans cookie Date: 01 Apr 08 - 08:54 AM We're there from 12:30 until whatever (usually about 17:30) and again from about 20:30 hrs onwards Richard, but aren't you on the panel of judges for the Folk Factor on Saturday between 3 and 5pm? John Barden |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: Richard Bridge Date: 01 Apr 08 - 06:42 AM I fear I shall therefore miss you John on the Sat pm. |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: GUEST,The Barden of England sans cookie Date: 01 Apr 08 - 05:28 AM It does make it a very short session Kevin, that's for sure. We'll just have to get everybody going with a few of them there Ruff 'n' Reddy specials :-). Blimey, a Barden session only lasting for 3 hours!!! Whatever next? John Barden |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: melodeonboy Date: 01 Apr 08 - 05:07 AM Indeed, John, but it does list your Saturday luchtime session as 12.30 to 2.30. Surely we'll just be limbering up by half two! |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: GUEST,The Barden of England sans cookie Date: 01 Apr 08 - 04:44 AM Oi Melodeonboy , I think you've been staring at one of your shirts too long ;-). The programme shows that the Gastove sessions are between 3pm and 7pm on Sunday 4th. May, so that'll make my afternoon a bit easier. It also shows, and quite rightly in my opinion, that Growler (Simon Barlow) is hosting the Friday and Monday session, so I presume that you'll be there to make up Ruff 'n' Reddy; marvelous. I'll try and make the Friday and the Monday as I shall be 'En Situ' so to speak. It all becomes clear if you follow the link: http://www.medway.gov.uk/index/leisure/events/sweepsfestival/57134.htm John Barden |

Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: growler Date: 31 Mar 08 - 04:56 PM Richard, I am told ,that we are doing Friday evening and Monday afternoon |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: melodeonboy Date: 31 Mar 08 - 10:10 AM I was under the impression that John Barden would be doing the Saturday singaround at The Good Intent, and Gastove would be doing the Sunday session with "slots". There's also the rumour that Ruff 'n' Reddy will be hosting sessions there on Friday and Monday, but I'll check everything with Growler before verifying anything. |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: Richard Bridge Date: 31 Mar 08 - 03:33 AM I expect there will be Bob and Kath's singarounds as usual, but I don't know if they will be in the King's Head or what, yet. |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: GUEST,The Barden of England sans cookie Date: 31 Mar 08 - 02:39 AM I told a lie. It has got them there on Sunday, Denny Laine on Friday, and The Battlefield Band on Saturday. John Barden |
Subject: RE: sweeps festival 2008 From: GUEST,The Barden of England sans cookie Date: 31 Mar 08 - 02:35 AM I'll be there Mick - at the Good Intent as usual on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th. May. Strange that the website doesn't appear to say that 'Show of Hands' are there:- http://www.medway.gov.uk/index/leisure/events/sweepsfestival/57134.htm Hope to see you there. John Barden |
