Following our sell-out opening night with Swarb last Friday, The Goose is delighted to have John Kirkpatrick upstairs @ edt (at the East Dulwich Tavern, Goose Green, London SE22) on Friday 25 April.

Master of many squeezeboxes, great singer and very funny as well, we think this will be another fantastic evening.

We also have some great floorsingers: Cornrigs (a duo who sing their own material), Matt Milton (bluesy/folky) and Bulgakov, a seven-piece Bulgarian chorus who are f*ing brilliant (and the part of the London Bulgarian Choir with a mission to bring a capella open-throated East European harmony singing to their own stamping ground of Sarf Lahndon!).

Doors open at 7pm with DJing from our resident Big Chill DJs Folk2Future. Live music is from 8-11 and there will be a late bar till midnight.

Food will be available and you can book a table from the venue.

If still available, tickets will be sold on the door for £9/8, but we advise early booking as we sold out for Swarb two weeks before the gig.

I saw John kirkpatrick not so long ago at Walthamstow folk club , and was thoruoghly entertained all evening and also in tears of laughter on several occasions ... I will be coming along , you can count on it !

Hey Kevin, wot's wrong with our link that it needs tidying up, lol.

We're quite techno-savvy south of the river, you know :)

Yay re the beer, we had been expecting everyone would have to go downstairs to the other bar to get anything other than keg lager, but hey, we arrived on the night to find the edt manager had got in Old Peculier (and Green Goblin cider).

Sadly it was not cheap, but hey! It was in very big bottles, not those tiny little bottles you used to get :)

Cornrigs are very melodious , they have a nice guitar sound , lovely clear vocals , well worth a look .
